Contraband Police, a quirky blend of Police Simulator and Papers Please, is making the jump from PC to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 on November 7th. Originally released in 2023, Contraband Police has sold nearly 1.5 million copies and boasts an “overwhelmingly positive” rating on Steam.
In Contraband Police, you are a border patrol officer in a communist country during the 1980s, where corruption and smuggling run rampant. You will check the papers, luggage, and vehicles of border crossers, looking for illegal contraband in the process, of course. And when things get hairy, there are vehicle chases, shootouts, and checkpoint raids. It looks bonkers.
The new console version will include all the features and updates that have been added to the PC version, including Inspector Mode, which adds 30 checkpoint upgrades, 20 new entry regulations, three document types, 10 police ranks, and daily missions. Additionally, a new Challenge Mode lets you take part in competitive events, along with two new weapons, and two new vehicles.
Check out the new gameplay trailer before you go, comrades.
