More On: Absolum

Absolum, the next game and brand-new IP from developer Dotemu is launching October 9th for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. A new trailer shown during Gamescom Opening Night Live revealed the news, as well as our first look at a new playable character called Brome.

Brome is a humanoid frog that possesses magical powers which allows him to travel on his magical staff using levitation, and to also dish out melee combos as well as cast magical spells. He joins the roster of playable characters as you explore branching paths, a variety of challenging bosses, and an intriguing fantasy story inspired by classic brawlers like Golden Axe and Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara.

The other part of Absolum’s formula is its roguelike nature, which will see you unlocking items and permanent upgrades on each run, though Dotemu promises its gameplay will be easy to approach while still capitalizing on that replayable gameplay loop.
