Eerie third-person action-adventure game, Hell is Us, has released a free demo on Steam, which will be playable until June 16th. Though the Death Stranding-esque game will also come to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on September 4th, for now the demo is stranded on PC. It lets players check out the entire first chapter of the game, which developer Rogue Factor is about an hour and a half of content, perhaps a bit longer for the curious folks who like to see every nook and cranny.
In the first chapter, players will be introduced to what Hell is Us refers to as “player-plattering”, which means no mini-maps, no GPS, and no quest markers available. The goal is to bring back the sense of discovery in adventure games by relying on your instincts, observation skills, and even your melee combat abilities.
