Imagine the old school GTA games, but you have a constant five-star wanted level and you’re trying to survive as long as you can. That’s MANIAC and it is coming to PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch on May 22nd for just $4.99. The top-down twin-stick shooter is offering non-stop chaos for the price of a Starbucks (well, some items at Starbucks), and it looks wild.
The goal is to survive for 20 minutes until a nuke can destroy town, with waves upon waves of police and military trying to take you down in the interim. There are multiple characters with different stats to unlock and try, as well as various upgrades and weapons to unlock to help you unleash maximum destruction.
MANIAC looks like good, mindless fun, and sometimes that’s all you need. Take a gander:
