The folks over at Ubisoft Mainz are at it again, prepping the next entry in their city-builder Anno series for a Winter 2025 release across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Amazon Luna. Today, the team shared the first gameplay trailer for Anno 117: Pax Romana, which takes players to the height of the Roman Empire, where you’ve been selected as the governor of a new territory by the emperor himself.
The success of your provinces depends on your choices, such as whether to embrace Celtic culture versus imposing Roman traditions or sparking rebellion rather than supporting the emperor. How and where you build is up to you, with players able to build on nearly any piece of land in a gorgeous world with stunning graphical fidelity.
I enjoyed my time with Anno 1800 a lot, so I’m quite keen to become a Roman governor this time around. Have a look at the first gameplay teaser below:
