I’ve been chasing this Maximum Football rabbit for some time now, patiently awaiting the free-to-play football sim from Maximum Entertainment. We’re now a great closer, as Maximum Football is heading to Steam Early Access on November 7th, with a console release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S to follow.
The physics-based football sim is shaping up to be one of the most, if not the most, in-depth football simulations on the market. In Early Access, it will include Exhibition Mode where you can play with 130 pre-made teams, or your own created teams. But College Dynasty Mode is the headlining feature at launch, allowing players to assume the role of coach and athletic director at an institution. You’ll scout, recruit, gameplan, and even manage your school’s budget and facilities to build the ultimate football program. Other Early Access features include online multiplayer and the full customization suite for both teams and players. Coming post-launch is Franchise Mode, which will let you take up the clipboard (and front office) of a professional football franchise.
Things are looking very good in the lead-up to Early Access. Now I just have to hold out a little bit longer for the console version.
