More On: CYGNI: All Guns Blazing

With a glut of game announcements, trailers, and showcases dropping this summer, it is easy for interesting games to slip through the cracks. I came across one such game a few weeks ago and have been meaning to share it with the Gaming Nexus audience ever since. That game is twin-stick shoot ‘em up CYGNI: All Guns Blazing from Scottish developer Keel Works and publisher Konami.

CYGNI is labelled as a next-gen shmup with “eye-popping visuals”, according to the game’s website, and based on the gameplay I’ve seen, it is hard to argue with that. As one of the only surviving pilots of a colony decimated by a surprise alien attack, you are the last line of defense against the invaders as you blast through hordes of enemies and giant bosses.

As a huge fan of Housemarque’s shoot 'em ups like Super Stardust Delta and Nex Machina, you can go ahead and inject this right into my veins. Check out the gameplay trailer and key features below. CYGNI: All Guns Blazing launches August 6th for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Key Features:

  • With next generation visuals, animation and special effects CYGNI is a new benchmark in cinematic shoot'em ups
  • Be the lone fighter, or one of two in local co-op, battling through intensely hostile levels filled with waves of air and ground assaults
  • Choose where to route energy on the fly switching between shields (defensive) or weapons systems (offensive)
  • Collect energy to power up your ship and energise weaponry from hard-hitting projectiles to an array of missiles.
  • Launch air to air and air-to-ground attacks as you traverse neon-lit metropolises, oceans and various otherworldly landscapes.
  • Go one-on-one against gargantuan enemies in cinematically epic boss battles
  • Full orchestral score and immersive sound design
