Today, developer Milestone has shared a fresh look at its monster truck racing game Monster Jam Showdown, specifically its off-road racing mode, and things appear to be shaping up well with the game. The Unreal Engine 5 racer will feature three biomes to take part in off-road races, including the tundra of Alaskan mountains, the forests of Colorado, and the rocky terrain of Death Valley. Each biome will support several arcade-style race types, as well as hidden shortcuts and jumps to get ahead of the competition.
Extreme weather conditions will also affect track conditions mid-race, from sandstorms to heavy rains, forcing you to adjust on the fly. Additional trailers are forthcoming to detail Monster Jam Showdown’s other modes but check this one out before you go. I watch it and just think, “hell yeah”.
Monster Jam Showdown releases August 29th for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
