We are a mere two weeks away from a moment that tennis sim fans have been waiting for – the return of the TopSpin franchise. Yesterday, 2K published a new “Centre Court Report” video that dives a bit more into the modes we can expect to play when TopSpin 2K25 launches on April 26th.

New tennis players will want to start at the TopSpin Academy, where tennis legend John McEnroe will guide you through tiers of training exercises to you get you familiar with the ins and outs of the game. Once you feel comfortable (of if you are the person who skips tutorials) you can jump in to offline and online Exhibition modes to play matches against the CPU or other humans. The real meat of the experience will be MyCareer – a staple of 2K Sports’ titles for years now. The MyCareer mode lets you create and customize your own player and then compete to climb the ranks of the pro tour in a single-player environment.

If you prefer to go head-to-head against your fellow humans, you can jump into World Tour or 2K Tour online modes. World Tour features rotating challenges where you select from a real tennis pro and compete against other players. 2K Tour lets you bring your created player online to take part in ranked and unranked matches as you try to climb global leaderboards.

Surprisingly, there doesn’t appear to be a MyTeam or similar card-based mode in TopSpin 2K25, which has been another staple of 2K Sports’ games. Regardless, I’m in on this one. Check out the new video below:
