Fulqrum Publishing and developer Dreamate Games shared a new story trailer and gameplay details today for its single-player RPG New Arc Line, which is coming to PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 later this year. I remember when New Arc Line was announced last year, but it’s been flying under the radar, to be honest.
New Arc Line is set in New World, a place where magic and machines are colliding. The protagonist is searching for a cure to a terminal family illness but must navigate all manner of drama and turmoil to do so. Players will find themselves in the middle of growing conflict, where branching storylines and your choices impact the world in a profound way. At the heart of it all is the power struggle between arcane magic of old, and the emerging steampunk technology of the future.
You’ll be able to create your own character as either a human, elf, dwarf, or giant, with six classes and 12 subclasses to further choose from. Along your journey, you will recruit companions and help them deal with their own struggles as well. Or don’t – the type of role you want to play in New World is up to you. No matter what choices you make, combat plays out through turn-based tactical battles with you and your party. You’ll also acquire various skills and spells to develop your tactics as you progress.
There’s still no firm release date for New Arc Line, but it certainly has a spot on my 2024 wishlist. Check out the new story trailer below:
