Pacific Drive puts you behind the wheel in new gameplay overview

More On: Pacific Drive

We’re now less than a month away from Ironwood Studios’ vehicular survival game Pacific Drive, with it launching February 22nd for PlayStation 5 and PC. As we prepare to get behind the wheel of our very own station wagon, the team has shared a new gameplay deep dive video. It is one of the better deep dives I have seen, offering a great sense of what the moment-to-moment gameplay will be like as we head out across the Olympic Exclusion Zone.

I’ve never seen a game quite like Pacific Drive, though it reminds me of titles like Death Stranding and Alan Wake, with a heavy dose of simulation mechanics. As you can see from the video, you’ll be gathering loot while exploring the OEZ full of supernatural anomalies. Between trips, you will return to your garage to repair, upgrade, and customize your wagon. I especially enjoy the part where closing the trunk of the car knocked a wheel off, which requires you to diagnose a repair on the computer. There are a lot of moving parts in Pacific Drive, and I am ready to get my hands on every single one of them.
