Light No Fire dazzles at The Game Awards

More On: Light No Fire

Developer Hello Games announced their next project tonight at The Game Awards called Light No Fire, a multiplayer survival sandbox game set on a fantasy planet the size of Earth. What the studio has created appears to be the inverse of No Man’s Sky, translating the scale of a massive universe full of planets to one singularly massive planet for all players.

The debut trailer is stunning and shows off in-game multiplayer gameplay of exploration, traversal, and building. You can also see some of the flora and fauna of the world, and glimpses of combat. Now, some of my Gaming Nexus colleagues were quick to remind me of what happened the last time Hello Games boss Sean Murray stood on stage at The Game Awards and made big promises like this – No Man’s Sky launched as a massive disappointment. However, this is not that Sean Murray, and this is not that Hello Games. This is the studio that have continued supporting No Man’s Sky for years since launch, crafting one of the most notable comeback stories in video games history, and one of the best ongoing games on the market. I am keeping the faith in Light No Fire, as it certainly lit a fire in me during The Game Awards.
