PAYDAY 3 is sneaking up on us, with its release just around the corner on September 21st for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. This week, developer Starbreeze revealed that two new playable characters – Pearl and Joy – are joining returning heisters Dallas, Hoxton, Wolf, and Chains at launch. Pearl is an expert con artist and stealth infiltrator, and a brand new character to the world of PAYDAY. Joy, meanwhile, served as a non-playable support character in previous games, but will now join the crew as a hacking and security expert.

In addition to the new characters, Starbreeze also shared its post-launch plans for PAYDAY 3. For starters, there are four DLC expansions in the works, with one releasing each quarter beginning this Winter with Syntax Error. It will be followed by Boys in Blue in the Spring, The Land of the Free next Summer, and Fear and Greed next Fall. Other post-launch support includes seasonal events, new playable characters, new enemies, new weapons, cosmetics items, new features, and further Unreal Engine 5 upgrades.
