Atari brings theme park sim RollerCoaster Tycoon Adventures Deluxe to consoles later this year

More On: Roller Coaster Tycoon Adventures

The last time I played RollerCoaster Tycoon was sometime in the early 2000s, but even before that it was the first CD-ROM computer game that I had the pleasure of playing. I recall spending countless hours designing parks and coasters, putting smiles on my digital visitors faces, and sending custodians to clean up vomit. Those were the days. Fast forward two decades and I will get to experience it all over again on console, as publisher Atari announced RollerCoaster Tycoon Adventures Deluxe for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. It is releasing later this year, but no specific date was given.

This upgraded version of RCT Adventures features more than 80 new rides, upgraded controller support for consoles, and new customization options. The 80 new attractions bring the game’s total to 200 rides available for your park, alongside an improved coaster builder with a re-designed interface optimized for controllers. It will also include three game modes – Sandbox, Adventure, and Scenarios.

RollerCoaster Tycoon Adventures is already available on Nintendo’s platform, sans the upgrades included in this Deluxe edition, and Atari is treating this as a “re-launch” of sorts on Switch. There is no trailer available to share at the moment, but hopefully one is forthcoming from Atari.
