I’ve had my eye on Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden from DON’T NOD and Focus Entertainment since its reveal late last year, and nothing about that changed following today’s gameplay reveal at Summer Game Fest. For the uninitiated, Banishers is a third-person story-driven action RPG that sees you hunting ghosts and, of course, banishing them. You play as two lovers and ghost hunters – Antea Duarte and Red mac Raith. The catch is that Antea has tragically met her end and is a ghost herself, a fate that Red refuses to accept as he endeavors to liberate her spirit. Red and Antea must combine their abilities to fight supernatural creatures and help the folks of New Eden. In DON’T NOD fashion, you’ll be faced with tough choices regarding the fate of the people of New Eden, with your decisions influencing how the narrative unfolds.
Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is scheduled to launch late this year on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with pre-orders available now. Check out the gameplay reveal from Summer Game Fest below:
