Swedish developer Embark Studios, the team comprised of many former DICE (Battlefield) devs announced that its free-to-play, third-person survival extraction shooter ARC Raiders is getting a closed alpha test on PC via Steam. It will be the first time the game is available to play outside the studio walls, and as such, it will be locked behind a non-disclosure agreement for those participating in the test. Sign-ups are available now on the game’s Steam page.

Beyond the playtest announcement, Embark also shared that after delaying the game last spring, the team went to work on adding PvP to the game as part of its core design. They now classify the game as a PvPvE survival extraction shooter and feel the game has been testing well internally. Now they are ready for fans to chime in with their feedback to ensure they are on the right track.
