More On: Operation Wolf Returns: First Mission VR

Publisher Microids and developer Virtuallyz Gaming announced on-rail shooter Operation Wolf Returns: First Mission VR will release on June 22nd for Meta Quest 2, PlayStation VR2, and Pico 4. It is a licensed and faithful rendition of the 1987 original from TAITO, featuring a brand new art style and a solo campaign with six levels. You play as a special agent fighting a new criminal organization who has developed powerful new weapons, which cannot see the light of day. Blast your way through the bad guys and their leader General Viper with a fully-stocked arsenal including SMGs, shotguns, and other things that go boom. If the single-player campaign isn’t enough, you can also try your hand at a wave-based survival mode with an endless amount of enemies to dispatch.

If VR isn’t really your thing altogether, Operation Wolf Returns: First Mission is also getting a non-VR version this Fall on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC. There's no word yet on if it will support any of the PS VR2 haptics or adaptive triggers. Rail shooters are a perfect game for VR rigs, so I will have to keep an eye on this one as June approaches.
