More On: Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy

Today, developer Frozenbyte and publisher THQ Nordic announced that the Trine series is returning for a fifth mainline entry – Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy. No release date was shared, but it’ll come to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch when it’s ready.

Trine 5 brings back the cast of Amadeus the Wizard, Zoya the Thief, and Pontius the Knight in an adventure to fight back against the fearsome Clockwork army. The 2.5D puzzle-platforming adventure game will feature 20 levels to explore with puzzles that scale in difficulty depending on the number of players. Speaking of, you’ll be able to play in local or online co-op with two other friends if you like. And you might need them for some of the new tactical multi-phase boss battles along the way.

The Trine series first began in 2009 with the original game, and was followed by 2011’s Trine 2, 2015’s Trine 3, and 2019’s Trine 4. I only briefly dabbled in the first game way back on the PS3 – I believe it was a PS Plus game at some point, if memory serves, but this looks like a fun co-op game. Check out the brand new announcement trailer below, and prepare to save the world of Trine once more.
