The PR email subject line for The Front's announcement read, in part, "DayZ meets The Forest and Battlefield", which caused me to immediately pause - well done, PR person! Like me, you might be wondering what such an amalgamation looks like, and the answer is that it looks a whole lot better than I could have imagined. It also looks incredibly ambitious:
The Front is an open-world post-apocalyptic survival sandbox shooter coming to PC, and it’s the debut game from developer Samar Studio. The game’s story takes place in an alternate reality where a tyrannical empire has taken over the world and seeks to dominate mankind. Meanwhile, the last remnants of humanity’s resistance are endeavoring to use time travel technology to fix the course of human history.
As you can see from the announcement trailer above, there is a lot going on in The Front, and it includes a laundry list of tantalizing features as well:
