Portuguese developer Digitality Studios announced that their action-farming roguelike game Voltaire: The Vegan Vampire is launching in Steam Early Access on February 27th.
In a charming, quirky twist on the farming sim and roguelike genres, Voltaire: The Vegan Vampire sees the youngest son of Dracula flee Transylvania in favor of a more vegan lifestyle. Despite your vampire status, during the daytime you will plant and cultivate ethically-sourced crops, while at night you will be forced to defend those crops from your father’s hordes of beasties.
Playing as the titular Voltaire you will find and plant 20 different crops from bitter coffin beans to sweet crapples (yum), but avoid overworking yourself, as pushing yourself to exhaustion will restore your primal craving for blood. As you can see in the brand new trailer below, this one gives off some major Don’t Starve vibes and it looks quite promising.
