VR survival adventure game Behemoth drops new trailer

Developer Skydance Interactive have dropped a new trailer at The Game Awards for their virtual reality survival adventure game Behemoth, which is coming to PlayStation VR2, Quest 2, and PC VR in late 2023. In Behemoth, players will face danger around every corner as they try to survive a dangerous world filled with dangerous people and creatures. The game is said to have a bleak story and a high level of challenge, featuring traversal puzzles and boss bottles against monolithic beasts.

I’m getting some major Dark Souls and Shadow of the Colossus vibes from this one. In fact, the way Skydance Interactive spoke of Behemoth in a new PlayStation Blog post made it sound like both of those could be inspirations:

“Everyone is struggling to survive in land that doesn’t want them. The opening moments of this game have you attacked, left for dead, and robbed for your meager supplies. There is a clear message here of—if you want to survive, you better be prepared to fight for it. And that’s just the human enemies. When you stare down your first Behemoth, you better be prepared for how huge these things really are, and what it takes to slay one.”

Now I get it – it’s just a cinematic trailer, but this definitely looks like one to keep an eye on as we head into 2023.
