Matcho combines first-person shooting and match-three in new gameplay overview

More On: Matcho

Developer FiolaSoft Studio has dropped a new gameplay overview video for Matcho, their unique combination of first-person shooter and match-three. In addition to gameplay, we also get a look at some of the title’s story beats, its protagonist Max, and the developer's inspiration for what they claim is the "first-ever match-three FPS".

In Matcho, players shoot bugs of the same color in trios in a clever twist on the popular style of game that we typically only see on mobile. You’ll build combo chains, solve puzzles, and use parkour to wall-run, double-jump, and dash around levels. The developer describes their vision as Doom meets Candy Crush in the new video, which you can check out below. It looks and sounds quite unique, and quite good.

No release date has been announced for Matcho, but it is being developed on Unreal Engine for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
