Elden Ring celebrates 12m sales milestone, blowing its 4m target out of the water

Elden Ring is one of the most critically-acclaimed video games of all time. The Gaming Nexus review of Elden Ring awarded a perfect score. Now, Bandai Namco has shared sales figures that show the new IP developed by FromSoftware is also enjoying massive commercial success, having sold 12m copies in just 18 days.

The press release published on FromSoftware's website celebrated the sales milestone, which far exceeded the 4m sales target Bandai Namco forecasted for the first month after release for Elden Ring. They also told fans to "Please look forward to more of "ELDEN RING" as an IP (characters and other intellectual property) in hopes of expanding beyond the realm of games."

Perhaps a novelization from George R.R. Martin? Though, given how long Winds of Winter is taking, perhaps not.

President & CEO/Director of FromSoftware, Inc., Hidetaka Miyazaki extended the development teams' gratitude to fans "I'd like to extend our heartfelt thanks on behalf of the entire development team."

The official Elden Ring Twitter account thanked all 12m Tarnished in a tweet published today.
