I hope I don't run into Rutger Hauer when Hitchhiker - A Mystery Game releases on the 15th

Get it? Because Rutger Hauer was The Hitcher in the 1986 classic horror film. What? You haven't seen The Hitcher? Gotta get on that. It's crazy.

Anyhow, it's a pretty safe bet that ol' Rutger won't be showing up in Hitchhiker - A Mystery Game when it releases in a few days. Though the game is clearly mystery-driven, and it looks like there will be some suspense involved, I doubt that anyone is going to be munching on any finger fries. (Seriously, you should really see The Hitcher).

But even without the murderous John Ryder, there is still plenty of good storytelling on display in this game. In Hitchhiker, players are along for the ride along a dusty highway, jumping into one car after another with strangers, with no clear idea who they are, why they are there, and where they are going. Each stranger will allow the player to see tidbits of their past, which will start to fill in the blanks. As you can see from the trailer, not everything is what it seems, and some of these rides might be less than safe.

Developed by Mad About Pandas and published by Versus Evil (who also published last week's already-classic First Class Trouble), Hitchhiker - A Mystery Game releases April 15 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. You can wishlist the game on Steam here.
