Dark Alliance (minus the Baldur's Gate) is announced for June, 2021

More On: Baldur's Gate 3 Dark Alliance

The Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance games on PS2 were some of the best gaming experiences I had that generation. As a console guy, I had never engaged with Diablo. So Dark Alliance was my introduction to loot-based multiplayer dungeon crawling, and I was instantly hooked. The Baldur's Gate license only helped sell the property, lending an official-feeling weight to my and my buddies rat-cleaving adventures.

Here we are, three videogame generations and at least twenty years later, and it looks as though Dungeons & Dragons Dark Alliance is making a return - this time minus the Baldur's Gate license, which is being well used elsewhere. Instead, this new version of Dark Alliance will be focusing on the beloved characters of author R.A. Salvatore's Forgotten Realms book series. Players will be able to take Drizzt Do’Urden, Catti-brie, Bruenor, and Wulfgar out for a spin - which should be enough to get any Dungeons & Dragons literature fan's heart pumping pretty hard.

Developed by Tuque Games - and the first game published directly by Wizards of the Coast - Dungeons & Dragons Dark Alliance launches on June 22, 2021 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
