Silverlode Interactive embraces iPhone

More On: iPhone iPhone OS
This just shows that no matter how new you are how doing iPhone app games, you can reach the top 100 with your new game, and win the New and Noteworthy spot in the app store, as Silverlode Interactive did with SAGA Catapult. Sometimes I can't help but wish we could play some of these awesome games without having an iPhone. Of course, there probably are ways to do that, but as always, I'm clueless.
Silverlode Interactive’s first non-PC game achieves coveted New and
Noteworthy spot on App Store.

Provo, UT - July 10, 2009 - Silverlode Interactive, developer of the
world’s first collectible MMORTS, today announced its first iPhone
game release SAGA Catapult, has earned a spot on Apple’s “New and
Noteworthy” list on the App Store. After some positive reviews on top
iPhone App sites, SAGA Catapult is now climbing the top 100 most
popular games list.

Silverlode Interactive is not switching focus to become an iPhone
developer, but rather are integrating the fastest-growing mobile
platform into the SAGA world to offer the more than 200,000 gamers who
registered for SAGA the ability to take SAGA wherever they go. In an
upcoming update, gold earned in SAGA Catapult can be sent directly to
that player’s SAGA MMORTS Online nation.

“Imagine having World of Warcraft mini-games on the iPhone where the
gold or items you earned could be sent to your MMO characters … That’s
what we’re doing with SAGA right now,” says Silverlode President Jason
Faller.

SAGA Catapult uses the full 3D assets exported directly from the SAGA
Online PC Game to create a 3D world where you take control of an
ancient siege weapon. You are the last line of defense guarding your
village against waves of Orcs, Dark elves and really angry Dwarves
with bosses like the Shadow Dragon and Mech Giant. Killing enemies
gives you gold which can be used in between waves to upgrade your
catapult.

Silverlode Interactive continues to focus on breaking the mold.
Creating an iPhone game that ties directly in to a PC game is just the
newest example. Another cross-platform game currently being developed
at Silverlode is SAGA Tactics, a game that goes one step farther by
allowing players on the iPhone the ability to compete against players
on a PC or Mac.
