E3 2008: Pixel Junk Eden (Hands on and Interview)

While playing Pixel Junk Eden at the Sony booth last week I realized that this was one of those perfect "girlfriend" games.  I realize that's a bit of a sexist term but "Non-Gaming Significant Other Game" is a bit of a mouthful.  Pixel Junk Eden is one of those easy to pick up/hard to master games that are all the rage right now, call it casual if you want but I'm going to stick this in the same near art category that fl0w and Flower.  The lack of real penalties in the game means that it's something we'll be able to play together without too much worry about one of us screwing up the other.

Rather than try to explain how to play the game I'm going to defer to my interview of SCEA Producer Matt Morton who does a better job of it than I ever could. I can say that the gameplay is a lot of fun and a little zen like as you hop around the world trying to collect pollen.  I am glad that the game will be out soon as I'm looking foward to checking out some of the other levels in the game to see what other surprises the PixelJunk people have scattered through out the game.
