What we're playing this weekend

More On: What we're playing
Ben Berry
I've just finished up WallE in singleplayer (the best movie tie-in I've ever played), and my fiance and I have been having a good time with multiplayer mode. We also have played through the Lego Indiana Jones demo a couple of times, so it's probably time to go buiy something new for the 360. Meanwhile, I'm working my way through the quests in Saga on the PC, and drooling over some of the early hands on previews of NHL 09. The new Be a Pro mode is going to be bad for my social skills, if I can keep it out of my girlfriends hands.

I finished up Metal Gear Solid 4 and it was a great ride. I'll probably play through it again and skip some of the longer cut scenes. I've also been tooling around with Uncharted and I've enjoyed it so far. The controls are a little sticky after playing MGS4 for a week straight, but I'll get the hang of it.

With the bags all packed for E3 this weekend I'll be playing a little Battlefield:Bad Company online so I can finish the review on the flight to LAX.  I'll also be catching up on the sleep and rest as I've got over 20 appointments scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday.

After a 10-hour binge of Sacred 2 previewed this past Wednesday, you'll have to excuse me if I'm still holding my head at a 3-D isometric angle while my left-mouse-button finger taps away at things with violent abandon.  Perhaps that particular RPG-induced muscle spasm will serve me well while pixel-hunting my way through mouthwatering (albeit static) canvases in Art of Murder: FBI Confidential.

If all goes according to plan, I will have Guitar Hero: Aerosmith,Guitar Hero III and Top Spin 3 spinning wildly in my Xbox 360 tray. For the PC, I may drop in and play some Guild Wars, as I picked up the Eye of the North expansion on the cheap.  I also have a plethora of items to start playing with for the Hooked Up series, including anew piece of electronics that should be inbound any day...

This Sunday I will be waking up early and boarding the flight to sunny Southern California for what will be my seventh E3.  Unfortunately this isn't going to leave me with a lot of time, so I probably won't be doing much gaming over the weekend.  I'm going to do my best to get through Guitar Hero: Aerosmith and play some more Unreal Tournament 3.  Since I'll be spending some of my weekend at an airport and on an airplane, I suspect I'll be playing a lot of PSP games.  Maybe I'll finally have a chance to go through Patapon and wipEout pulsE.  Those are two games I've been meaning to tackle.

It's an RPG-fest for me. Persona 3 FES (96 hours for the main game), let's hope The Answer is shorter than the main game. Summon Night Twin Age on the DS, Mana Khemia on the PS2. Folklore on the PS3. I really don't get how I find time to get to all these games with all the work shenanigans I put up with.

With Chuck at E3 next week I'm thinking we have a party at GamingNexus Headquarters aka Chuck's house and really trash the place. Who am I kidding we're gamers. All we would do is construct a pyramid of empty pop cans that accumulate after hours of playing. All kidding aside I'm still looking forward to my copy of DBZ Burst Limit for the 360.

It's kinda light right now for me.  I'll probably be dusting off some oldies, such as Diablo II.  I'm in the mood for a pure hack-n-slash since Blizzard's latest announcement.

John Yan
I finally picked up a copy of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots so I'm going to go through a few rounds with ole Solid Snake this weekend. As always, I'll try to get in a few quick rounds in Team Fortress 2 and I can move on from Pyro as I've achieved all the unlockables for that class. Finally, I think I'll start up a new character in Diablo II since I just found my original CDs. It's amazing what you can find when you clean out your basement.
