Metal Gear?!
To get gamers riled up for the Release of MGS4, Konami is releasing Metal Gear Solid: The Essential Collection. This PS2 bundle pack includes the original Metal Gear Solid, and the "director's cuts" Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance, and Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence. This is good news for recent fans of the series who want to experience the whole thing. It's also good for people who might have missed the special editions of the games; Subsistence is particularly difficult to find these days. This announcement has a bit of a sour note, however. As PS1 and PS2 games, you won't be able to play them on the backwards compatible-less 40GB PS3. With rumblings that the 60GB model is on the chopping block, it's good that PS2s are still around and pretty cheap.
