More On: He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction

It turns out that this coming April is for more than just new Masters of the Universe toys to coincide with the new movie. Limited run Games has also announced that the end of April is also when gamers will be getting their hands on He-Man Masters of the Universe:  Dragon Pearl of Destruction.

This 2D side-scrolling brawler was revealed a few months back and I know that I have personally been waiting with bated breath to see when it would get a release date or window. A new trailer for the game shows off not only a new character, but a firm release date of April 28, 2026.

The trailer, shown below, shows what has been rumored since the game’s unveiling: She-Ra is going to be included as a playable character. That brings the playable roster to four characters: He-Man, She-Ra, Teela, and Mat-at-Arms. Keen eyed-fans will see a lot more in the clips show in the trailer as well. Here are some things that I noticed:

-She-Ra’s inclusion likely means that the Horde will be included… so look for Hordak, Grizzlor, Shadow Weaver and the rest of the baddies from Etheria

-a boss enemy that resembles the Orlax, which means we could see time travel to Preternia

-Granamyr and Orko appear as a summoning-type attacks; perhaps there will be others

-Eternia tower, including the side towers of Grayskull and Viper gives further fuel to the theory of Preternian time travel

Hopefully there will be a lot more content in the final game because there are a ton of possibilities. I want to see more characters, costumes / outfits (Battle Armor He-Man, Flying fists He-Man, Filmation / 200X / movie variations). Let’s not even get me started on other possible playable characters… check it out below and look to pick up the game on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch platforms on 4/28/2026:
