Konami and Limited Run Games doesn't care that I'm on vacation. They wanted me to tell you all about the Marvel MaXimum Collection, slated to be coming soon to practically everything. This is a surprising collection, especially since the games featured here are all from different companies. While Konami is the reason behind the X-Man Arcade game, it's only responsible for the one, and most featured game in this collection.
X-Men Arcade will let you play with up to 6 players online with Rollback Netcode, according to the LRG website. There's also Data East's Captain America and The Avengers Arcade port here, but there is no word that this will be online play. Then it starts to get crazy. The Genesis version of Captain America and The Avengers is here, but so the platforming version from the NES.
Then Maximum Carnage and Separation Anxiety (Acclaim, Software Creations) Spider Man beat em ups are here too, but you can switch between the SNES and Genesis versions on the fly!
Then the Spider-Man/X-Men crossover Arcade's Revenge will be here from the SNES, Genesis, Gameboy, and Game Gear. And those are by LJN. And this ain't LJN's last entry.
The NES version of Silver Surfer is here too, and nobody knows why. This game is unfairly hard, though the website describes it as infamously challenging. Sure, LRG. Sure.
Within the game are scans of box art, arcade art, and manuals. There is a cheat menu, and rewind and save state features. Of course there are your display filters, and there is a music player, even to play "one of the greatest sound tracks in 8 bit history. Sure, LRG. Sure.
There is no release date, and if you're reading this and you didn't know, then I'm happy you did. I am on vacation. Check this out.
