The upcoming season of Marvel Rivals not only introduces new heroes/villains, modes, special events, and quality-of-life updates, but also a new console to play the game on. With Season 4 comes the Playstation 4, or at least the game will finally be playable on the last-gen machine anyway, the daggum PS4 has been around for nearly 12 years.
The big news with Season 4's content is the addition of Angela, she's a Vanguard type angel with one wing who can take to the skies and unleash devastating attacks from on high, or create a shield to protect against an enemies volley. There is also a new Team-Up ability coming in Season 4 and a major update to Arcade Mode with games like Clone Rumble and Giant-Size Brain Blast becoming a permanent part of the rotation. Entirely new modes are inbound as well - Free Fight has no restrictions on duplicate heroes, Conquest (Annihilation) scores points via KOs, and many of the modes will be easily accessible from a single hub for Arcade Mode that will reduce queueing times by selecting one or multiple options at once. It'll also be easier to select your hero form the Favorites Bar of your most played characters.
All this should be available at the Season 4 launch on September 12th, then a new Convergence mode map, K’un-Lun: Heart of Heaven, will be coming about two weeks after on September 25th. Marvel Rivals is free to play on all supported systems, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and now PS4 as well.
