AstroBeam today showed off their first VR game and it looks really impressive. Stellar Cafe is not your typical sci-fi VR game because instead of using your controls to select a conversation option, you just talk. Yup, like using your hands to interactive with the environment, Stellar Cafe uses the power of AI to interpret what you say and then uses it for its responses.
All you have to do in the game to chat with someone is just talk into the Quest 3's mic. There's no dialogue tree nor are there options to choose from. The game will take your voice and decide its next course of action or response using AI to power it. They say there's no script and it's all done dynamically with you just using your voice and hands via the built in tracking technology.
The studio is founded by the former CEO of Owlchemy Labs, makers of Job Simulator. The trailer does show off some impressive features with how the NPCs respond. If the game can respond in a very quickly, I can see it being a really immersive experience. No release date yet, but you can wish list it now.
