Ha, this whole premise is hilarious. In The Bureau of Fantastical & Arcane Affairs you're not the hero. Well, not at first. Instead, you're an inspector at TBoFaAA (again, that's The Bureau of Fantastical & Arcane Affairs).
Your job is to go about this point-and-click adventure kingdom and ensure everything is shipshape before the hero begins their quest. I mean, a lot of administrative issues can and will crop up. Have both the princess and the dragon taken up their respective places? Is the necromancer's cave in a complete state of disarray, with the miniboss in shambles? Is the United Builders Union of Enchanted Settlements hard at work, or are they on strike again? Is a dragon attack even in the budget this fiscal year?
After putting out all these administrative fires (or, perhaps, letting them burn), then you get to step into the shoes of the hero. You'll engage the adventure that's been Truman Show'd together for you, and see just how everything plays out—for better or worse.
The Bureau of Fantastical & Arcane Affairs is coming soon (tm) from Hip Flask Games to the PC, at least at first.
