During the State of Play from Sony, the last game to be announced was a new Marvel VS fighting game, but not from the company we're used to. Arc System Works, creators of Guilty Gear: Strive and Dragon Ball Fighterz, has teamed up with Marvel to bring a 4 on 4 VS fighting game, called Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls.
The game promises easy pick up and play mechanics, requiring you to only have to master one character, and letting the mechanics of the game do the rest. This means that a down, down forward, forward motion will be one motion for most of the characters. This was similar to Dragon Ball Fighters in a way. It's said that with a press of a few buttons, you'll be able to tag in, and bring in multiple characters for team up attacks and more.
The characters shown so far were Iron Man, Spider Man, Doctor Doom, Ms. Marvel, Star Lord, and Ghost Rider. The animation here is Arc System Works at it's finest. Animated, with flashy move sets, hit sparks, and combos, combos, combos.
Apparently, i'll have to go back and look, but the stages also have a stake in the matches, when it comes to wall bouncing, and walls you can actually put your opponent through. And a fighting game wouldn't be a fighting game without crazy special moves. You need to see this all for yourself, as we await new announcements on characters, a least until 2026. And it's only coming to Playstation and PC via Steam and Epic.
