Goodbye Joe

More On: EIC Ramblings
Last night Joe Nuxhall died of cancer the age of 79.  Joe was the youngest player to play baseball and the long time voice of the Cincinnati Reds.  Joe never voiced a video game or anything but he and Marty Brennaman were always on in my house during the summer when we lived in Ohio.  For me he is and always will be the voice of the Reds despite some blatant homerism and missing the occasional call.  You could always hear Joe's voice rise as balls left the bat and headed towards the outfield.  There are a few great clips of Joe yelling in the background while Marty makes a home run call.  Farewell old timer, you will be missed.
