Farm sims are my go-to relaxation. I know the idea of working up a sweat on a hot summer day taking care of animals or tending to my crops is just me romanticizing a job that I know I am too soft to actually do. Pixelshire looks like it strikes a lot of checks off my list of requirements when thinking about trying a new farm sim. Pixel graphics that look sharp remind me of other farm sim titles I love. When it comes to the world of Pixelshire, called Arcadia, you can build your perfect town, meet new friends, and then invite them to stay while you grow your idyllic community. Of course you also will be gathering resources, constructing new homes, and decorating your world. You can shape the land the way you want with terraforming features; being able to carve rivers or create hills wherever you please. I like the idea of crafting a landscape that reflects my style.
There are skills and talents tailored to each NPC’s profession. One example is an unlockable talent from Captain Farrell that can enhance your culinary skills, resulting in tastier dishes that offer additional stamina recovery benefits. And finally, you can adventure across the continent of Arcadia, delve into dungeons, mine for precious ore, and uncover any secrets that lie beneath the surface. Pixelshire will launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch later this year. You can pre-order physical versions for PS5 or Switch.
