More On: WWE 2K24

WWE 2K24 was revealed today and we got a boatload of information about the game as well. On their official website, 2K broke down all of the additions to this years game.

The big mode this year will be the celebration of 40 Years of Wrestle Mania. The Showcase mode this year will focus on reliving historic moments and matches from Wrestle Mania. In the trailer we saw Hogan vs. Andre, Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns, Bianca Belair vs. Asuka, Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair, Stone Cold vs. Bret Hart and Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels. There will no doubt be many more matches and my guesses for some others would be Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon in their iconic ladder match and The Rock vs. Stone cold and Brock Lesnar ending Undertaker's streak at Wrestle Mania 30.

WWE 2K24 will also include a number of brand new and returning match types including the return of Special Guest Referee matches and Gauntlet matches along with the all new Casket and Ambulance matches. Backstage brawls now support up to four players and the Royal Rumble match can now be played with up to 8 players online.

The gameplay got some updates as well including what 2K is calling "super finishers". Not sure what that means but my guess would be the ability to perform finishers from the top rope like a top rope RKO or Rip Tide. A new "trading blows" mini game as well as the ability to dive outside to a group of opponents was also added. They are also adding more weapons to the game like trash cans, guitars and microphones and the ability to throw weapons.

All of the other modes in the game are getting updates as well including new rivalry options and cutscenes in Universe mode, talent scouts and trades in My GM, Create a Referee and Create a Sign added in the creation suite and two brand new My Rise stories, one for men and one for women.

I am extremely excited for this game. All of these updates look fantastic especially the new match types as it's been forever since we saw this many added to the game. The more the better in my opinion.

WWE 2K24 launches on March 8th for those with the standard edition and March 5th for those with the Deluxe or the 40 Years of Wrestle Mania bundle.
