Empire is
reporting that Mark Wahlberg will be playing the role of Max Payne in the movie adaption of the game. I'm a bit torn on this as Mark Wahlberg is fantastic actor (See "The Departed" or the unerappreciated "The Corrupter") but I'm not sure that this is really a game that needs to be turned into a movie. Will they cut out all the over wrought prose and drug sequences or will those make it to the big screen? I guess we'll find out when the movie is released but I'm not overly optimistic.
