Update on Blamcon lightguns

It's been a few months since I posted about a new DIY solution for light guns with Blamcon. Chris over at Props3D has posted and update today on how their project is going.

As one who enjoys updating my own arcade machine, this is one project I'm very interested in. I was about to make some Gun4IR guns and I still will, but I'll be purchasing a few Blamcon guns or kits as well to make my own. One of things I really appreciate about this project is Chris's dedication to making it easy for the DIY folks as well as not releasing anything until it's good and ready, tested to work well, and delivers on his promises of a good solid lightgun solution.

I really like the PCB being labeled with the functionality on what it will do once you wire it up. That will really cut down on confusion on what you will need to wire to with your gun. And the software sounds really solid as they will let you select the IR LED setup you prefer. I know some folks who have their IR setup one on each side while Chris prefers two above and two below the screen. Blamcon is looking to let you state your setup if you currently have one so you don't have to change anything that you might currently have wired up.

You can check out the progress below and see how it's going. If you're wanting a lightgun for your home arcade machine, this is something that you should keep in mind and hopefully, it'll be available soon.
