Announced during an Indie showcase for Nintendo, Wayforward has revived a cancelled Gameboy Advance game from 20 years ago. If you're not familiar with Shantae's adventures, it's a platforming game dubbing her the half genie hero. In this one, she can change between the background and foreground to solve puzzles, and there's even 4 player battleground.
She still has her hair whipping technique, but now she can turn into animals to reach other places, ala Monster Boy. I've never personally got into these games, but perhaps it's time. Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution comes out in 2024, plenty of time for you to catch up.
