The Forest Cathedral is based on real life people and events

More On: The Forest Cathedral

I’m really digging the idea of The Forest Cathedral. The game is inspired by real-life scientist Rachel Carson and her investigation of the harmful pesticide known as DDT. What a wild premise for a game. You take on the role of Rachel, who has started a field research biologist position on a mysterious island. “While completing her weekly tasks, she quickly realizes things are not as they seem. Players will slowly uncover the horrific effects of the pesticide using advanced environmental technology to complete puzzles that weave together 3D exploration with 2D platforming. What secrets will Rachel discover on this island? Many will try to silence her, but the truth always finds a way.”

A big part of The Forest Cathedral will be switching between Rachel in the 3D world and the “Little Man”, a 2D world of her environmental scanning tool she’ll use to help solve puzzles. The game also features a fully-voiced narrative and an original soundtrack.

The Forest Cathedral is available now on Steam, the Epic Games Store, Humble Bundle, Xbox Series S|X, and PlayStation 5.
