Wil Wheaton's keynote was one of the reasons I was really looking forward to PAX. I was interested to see what topics he was going to cover and if the material was going to be as good as his books and blog posts.
I was not let down at all by the keynote. While he covered a range of topics the central theme of the keynote was how games bring people together and how gaming is a social experience. He covered everything from classic arcade games to modern games like
Wii Sports and
Guitar Hero 2. He talked about how he used games to connect with his children and how games bring friends and family together. It was a fantastic presentation and hopefully it gets transcribed somewhere online so everyone can read the full text of one of the best speeches on gaming.
