Skybound reveals trailer for Escape Academy DLC - Escape from Anti-Escape Island

More On: Escape Academy

The icon for the excellent Escape Academy is still staring me down from my desktop, taunting me in an attempt to get me to hop in and finish the game. There is no reason for my failure, Escape Academy is a stellar game that was giving all sorts of happiness when I was messing around with it. I just got about halfway through and got pulled off, not having had time to go back.

I had better get busy, because developer iam8bit and publisher Skybound Games today released a trailer for the first (of an expected "many"!) DLC for Escape Academy, entitled Escape from Anti-Escape Island

If you missed it, Escape Academy very successfully translates the real-world experience of going through an escape room to the video game space. You can attempt the game's extremely clever and fun puzzles on your own, or attempt them with a friend. The new DLC takes place after the player completes their first "year" at Escape Academy (which is the focus of the core game), and sees the gang from school heading out on summer vacation. Of course, the Escape Jet is shot down, leading to an "escape the island" scenario. The DLC promises five new escape-room levels, which is a lot of content; these things are complex.

Escape Academy: Escape From Anti-Escape Island will launch on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC on November 10. The DLC will be included in the Escape Academy Season Pass that’s available for $14.99 USD, and players that don’t own the Season Pass will be able to purchase the content separately for $9.99.
