Final Fantasy XVI - Ambition trailer

Square Enix dropped a new story trailer for their upcoming role playing game Final Fantasy XVI, shedding more light on the narrative. The newest entry in the Final Fantasy series stars protagonist Clive Rosfield, as confronts he various humans who have been cursed with the power to become Eikons.

This new trailer highlights various kingdoms including The Grand Duchy of Rosaria, the Holy Empire of Sanbreque, the Dhalmekian Republic, The Iron Kingdom, and the Kingdom of Waloed. Each kingdom has its own Eikon summon, such as the Phoenix. There seems to be a raging war between kingdoms as they all battle to claim the light of the crystals.

• Who shall claim their fading light? From a single spark, will the land ignite A new shadow rises to fall upon the Dominants, painting their destinies black as night. It has been fifteen hundred years since the fall of our forebears, and Valisthea has been slowly dying ever since. Darkness spreads as day gives way to twilight, the Mothers' flame now all but a flicker. And as the fringes fade, the people flock to the Mothercrystals.

Final Fantasy XVI is coming to PlayStation 5 sometime Summer 2023.
