More On: Stadia Hot Wheels Unleashed

Those wacky folks over at Stadia continue to boggle the mind with their wild stealth drops - pushing games into Stadia Pro with little attention given for things like publicity or announcements. Much to the delight of the Stadia faithful, Hot Wheels Unleashed - Game of the Year Edition popped up on Stadia Pro today with zero warning.

This isn't the base game that PlayStation Plus fans are set to receive in October. No, no, this is the full banger-ass $90 special edition, which contains all of the season passes. This means that all of the Batman, Looney Tunes, and Turtle content is in this package - with a ton of other add-ons that will take newcomers several hours to parse.

I hopped into the game and played through the tutorial race with my keyboard (which worked surprisingly well) so I could see what was available to players out of the gate. Unlike the base game, which starts you off with three cars, this version has a mountain of vehicles to start your racing journey, everything from a Chun-Li car to the amazingly swift and sleek Superman car.

I was a huge fan of Hot Wheels Unleashed on PlayStation, putting a ton of time into the game, both in single-player and multiplayer modes, and this new Stadia version of the game has stuff that I haven't even seen before. For Stadia Pro members, who may have been underwhelmed by recent months' content, this is a gigantic shot in the arm.
