Give beekeeping a try with APICO

More On: APICO

I’ve never given beekeeping much thought, but APICO might change that. “Comb-ining resource gathering, biology, and minigames with ideas from both real-life and fantasy beekeeping and gardening, APICO will teach players about the ins-and-outs of maintaining a healthy hive and the importance of our irreplaceable pollinating pals. The islands of APICO were once abuzz with different species of bees, and it’s up to players to rediscover lost species, cross-breed new ones, and repopulate each unique bee-ome. Progressing further into the game may also uncover some forgotten secrets.” APICO launched on PC back in May but is pollinating onto Nintendo Switch.

Gameplay elements include collecting materials, and crafting tools; collecting over 30 species of bees, like the Common Bee, the Forest Bee, and the Verge Bee to collect. You’ll also make and sell honey, Apicola, and other beekeeping products. If you have friends there’s cross play, with up to four players. The best part about crossplay regardless of where you purchase the game. Bee-sides developing APICO TNgineers are also donating part of the game’s proceeds to help save real-life bees.

The beekeeping simulator APICO is out now on PC and releases for Nintendo Switch on July 7.
