ICYMI - Hysterically tough but fair platformer Vagante releases on console today

More On: Vagante

Vagante, the roguelite platformer from North American studio Nuke Nine, releases on consoles today. If you missed it, last week the Gaming Nexus gang settled in for a nice, long play session with Vagante, which mostly resulted in cursing and hysterical laughter. We had a blast letting Vagante kick us around for a couple of hours, in one of the most fun streams we've initiated in quite a while.

Vagante is a challenging game, but the challenge is lessened somewhat when you take a crew into the game's mysterious dungeons with you. I had attempted to play by myself before this session and did not get very far. But with a group of friends, we were able to quickly suss out some of the game's systems, progressing much further into the caves than I would have managed in the same time by myself.

Vagante has been in development for five years, and the PC version has been kicking around Steam long enough to garner a 90% positive rating from over 3000 player reviews. Vagante is clearly rich with content (as the surprise unlock of a new class revealed to my crew), and while I'm certain that PC gamers might know the answer, console players will just now start learning how deep these caves really go. Just...wear a helmet, and beware falling rocks.

Vagante is published by Blitworks (one of our favorite publishers), and is available today on Xbox consoles, PlayStation Consoles, and Nintendo Switch for $14.99 / 13.99 EUR.
