CES 2020: HTC announces VIVE Wrist Trackers for the VIVE Focus 3 and maybe other HMDs

HTC today announced some new VIVE Focus 3 products and one that should really help hand/arm tracking for the stand alone headset.

The HTC VIVE Wrist Trackers look a little but like fitness trackers that will help give more accurate representation of the position of your arms and hands. They work without the need to be in the view of the VIVE Focus cameras and you can also attach them to other objects if you want to track those as well.

HTC says they are 85% smaller and 50% lighter than the controllers so they should be pretty easily forgotten once you put them on.

There's no word on availability nor pricing, but when i asked for some more information, the PR rep did say that HTC was working on having these work in other all-in-one headsets. I mean, who doesn't want to have full motion tracking of the hands without occlusion or visibility from the tracking camera problems. I'm wondering if these can be used to track your hands when they are say behind your back like when you play pool.

Here's hoping we get more information soon on these and perhaps some info on other HMDs this will be able to be used on in the near future.
