Turtle Rock Studios released a free update for their co-op zombie shooter Back 4 Blood just in time for the holidays. Back 4 Blood is the spiritual successor to the renowned Left 4 Dead franchise and features a unique rogue-like deck building system with action packed zombie slaying combat.

This update introduces "Roving Merchants", which are limited supply lines that provide players more rewards to spend Supply Points on. In particular, the "34th Street" Roving Merchant allows players to unlock seasonal character skins, weapon skins, emblems, and sprays. Brand new cards called Burn Cards are also available through Roving Merchants and can be used in saferooms to gain temporary effects such as instant healing, currency boosts, and increasing resistances.

Here is a full rundown of the update:

  • New solo offline campaign mode with progression

  • New Roving Merchants supply lines

  • New seasonal character skins, weapon skins, emblems, and sprays

  • New cards and brand-new card type, Burn Cards

  • New zombie practice area

  • Fort Hope holiday themed decorations

  • Jukebox music tracks now adjustable via music slider

  • Randomized character bots for solo mode

  • Balancing adjustments to Recruit, Veteran and Nightmare difficulty levels

Back 4 Blood is available now for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|S, and PC. The full detailed update notes can be found on the official Back 4 Blood website.
